World Autism Acceptance Month toolkit

About this toolkit

World Autism Acceptance Month 2024 starts on Tuesday 2 April. The UN’s international day for autism is Tuesday 2 April.

This April, autistic young people will be sharing their advice on how others can help make them feel more accepted in their daily lives. This is really important. Autistic young people are more marginalised and isolated than their peers. They are more likely to be excluded from school, struggle to feel understood and supported, and have lower employment prospects than other disabled people.

We have created social media messages to help you spread the word about autism acceptance wherever you are – whether that’s in schools, the workplace, or in your local community. Below, you will find sample social media posts and shareable graphics for you to use to spread awareness. Right-click on the images to download them. Whether you are an education professional, an employer, or member of the public, use these messages and images to amplify autistic young people’s voices.
